Come spend a day on the farm designed for writers, artists, makers, and dreamers who want both space and inspiration to do their best work.

This isn’t a workshop with rigid schedules. It’s an open invitation: bring your laptop, your sketchbook, your knitting, or that project you’ve been meaning to finish. We’ll give you the time, the space, and the fuel.

🌿 The Setting
Our remodeled 1880s barn is cozy (and climate-controlled). Surrounded by fields and the rhythm of farm life, you’ll find the calm and quiet you need to focus and let your creativity flow.

🍴 The Food
We believe great work is fueled by great food. Throughout the day, John Hogeland (a trained chef, butcher and now farmer) will whip up fresh, wholesome meals prepared with ingredients straight from the farm.

🤝 The Community
Work alongside fellow creatives who understand the ups and downs of making something from nothing. Share ideas, cheer each other on, or simply enjoy the quiet company of others doing the same.

Your Guide

Beth Hoffman is a journalist and author of Bet the Farm: The Dollars and Sense of Growing Food in America. She was an Associate Professor in Media Studies at the University of San Francisco, and since moving to the farm, she coaches writers in their craft. She will offer exercises for those who would like to participate, and one-on-one meetings to work through your writing or other creative kinks.
