How does buying a 1/4, 1/2 or whole beef work?

The amount you pay to the farm for your whole beef is $4.25 per pound hanging weight, half is $4.40 and a quarter is $4.55

Milo locker charges ~$1.35 per pound hanging weight for processing

The "all in price" (the total amount you pay for what you take home) comes out to bebe around $9 per pound.

What does that mean??

For example for a 650 lb hanging weight (the weight of a whole cow), the approximate cost will be about $3750. ​

Goats​

 Our whole young goats are $4.25 per pound live weight and $3.00 per pound for does.  The Moravia locker charges about $80 per head below 60 pounds and $120 per head for larger animal processing.
