October 14, 2023—Writing on the Farm, Lovilia, IA 9 am-5 pm

This one-day workshop will take place in our new barn-house. Call me at 641-218-8480 if you’d like to attend—there are only a few spots still available.

October 28, 2023—The Dubuque Museum of Art, Dubuque, IA 1 pm

I am excited to be in conversation with artists Roberta Condon and Lorraine Ortner-Blake about the changing rural landscape, the struggles and joys of life on the farm, and how our experiences can inspire art. The talk is part of Community Day at the museum.

October 29, 2023 —The Hearst Center for the Arts, Cedar Falls, IA 1-4 pm

I will be teaching a FREE Memoir Writing Workshop from 1-4 p.m. This three-hour workshop is designed to get you moving on your memoir and help you explore ways to make your story more relevant to readers. In a mixture of discussions and hands-on writing time, you will come away with tangible ideas as to how to structure your story and craft it in a way that allows people from all walks of life to connect with it and learn about the past. This workshop is free with pre-registration required.

October 30, 2023 Western Homes, Cedar Falls, IA 6 pm

Also in Cedar Falls, I will be doing a book talk. The event is free and open to the public and will take place at 6 p.m. at Western Homes, Prairie Wind, Conference Room, Third Floor, 5313 Caraway Lane, Cedar Falls, Iowa. The event is free and open to the public.

November 11, 2023 Sausage Making @ The Barn-House, Lovilia, IA 1-3 pm
